About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Jacobs. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining instrument/electrical systems/equipment in support of wind tunnels at NASA LaRC safely, effectively, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain instrument/electrical systems/equipment in support of wind tunnels at NASA LaRC.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to existing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and workmanship in performing duties.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Desire to learn more in the STEM fields outside of the typical classroom setting, with hands-on training, mentoring, and instruction.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and maintain a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.
Work Environment

The work environment will require the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client. The successful candidate will join a team to operate and maintain instrument/electrical systems/equipment in support of wind tunnels at NASA LaRC safely, effectively, and efficiently.

Physical Requirements
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter confined spaces, crawl into or onto various assemblies while maintaining a clear vision of safety.
  • Potential exposure to high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, propellants, and the like.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist, and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.
Equipment and Machines
  • Facility operations display/keyboards/mechanical/electrical control/HMI, standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.).
  • Operate appropriate equipment; devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products, such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
Attendance
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
  • Potential for overtime/work outside normal schedule required.
