As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic at US Foods, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of refrigerated vehicles. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal trucking regulations
- Document and complete maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used
- Perform road rescue and transport equipment as needed
- Backup other maintenance shop personnel as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class-A CDL license
- DOT certification preferred
- 7 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
- Independent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience in administering a PM program
- Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals
