Job Description

Welcome to Lifelong Medical Care We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Triage Assistant to join our team. As a critical component of our patient-centered care model, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication between our clinic's Triage department and LifeLong Medical Care Call Center. Your exceptional multitasking abilities and capacity for prioritization will enable you to effectively manage incoming messages, schedule appointments, and assist walk-in patients. By collaborating closely with our Medication Program Coordinator and supporting Contra Costa Cares and other uninsured patients, you will make a tangible impact on our community's well-being.

Your ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain accurate records in EPIC will be essential. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are non-negotiable, as you will interact regularly with patients, healthcare professionals, and vendors. Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $40,320 - $42,240 based on a 20-21 hour wage of $20-$21 per hour. In addition to competitive compensation, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, ten paid holidays, Flexible Spending Accounts, and a 403(b) retirement savings plan. As a member of SEIU-UHW, you will participate in a collective bargaining agreement that sets salaries and benefits. To be eligible for this position, you must remain a member in good standing of SEIU-UHW, as defined by the CBA.

Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of this role include:
  1. Functioning as a liaison between the clinic's Triage department and LifeLong Medical Care Call Center
  2. Retrieving, prioritizing, and updating all incoming messages for Triage
  3. Alerting RNs to urgent messages
  4. Assisting walk-in patients with medication refill issues
  5. Initiating paperwork processes requiring clinical input from providers
  6. Submitting EDD claims on behalf of providers signed up for online EDD
  7. Scheduling urgent and follow-up appointments in EPIC
  8. Collaborating with the Medication Program Coordinator to support Contra Costa Cares and other uninsured patients
  9. Analyzing the triage system to identify problems and suggest workflow improvements
