Position Overview:

As a Principal Fraud Services Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of financial transactions. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing fraud incidents and implementing strategies to mitigate fraudulent activities within the payment ecosystem. Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Oversee the implementation of fraud prevention products and programs.
  • Design and manage consultation and training services related to fraud incidents and trends for stakeholders.
  • Collect and manage documentation related to fraud activities.
  • Draft and supervise the creation of technical documents for training and incident reporting.
  • Manage processes related to alerts from fraud detection systems.
  • Utilize advanced fraud detection tools and technologies.
  • Identify emerging threats and develop fraud prevention tactics and training methodologies.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and address audit findings.
  • Manage customer portfolio configurations in fraud applications, ensuring seamless user experience.
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline project workflows.
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements affecting the industry.
  • Represent Discover at industry events and forums.
  • Assist leadership functions as needed.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Customer Service, Payment Services, Fraud Management, Banking, Finance, or Project Management.
  • Alternatively, 8+ years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI).
  • Experience with SnowFlake or SQL programming languages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
