Senior Counsel

Discover is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our Consumer Deposits team. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and guidance to our business partners, ensuring effective risk management practices, and supporting a risk-aware culture.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer financial services law, with experience in handling complex legal matters and projects. You will be responsible for providing legal advice, direction, and training to in-house business partners, identifying and communicating legal and regulatory requirements, and managing assigned resources and budgets.

As a Senior Counsel, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our business teams to develop and implement effective risk management strategies, and to contribute to the development of our company's policies and procedures.

• Develop and implement effective risk management strategies in collaboration with business teams.
• Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures.

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• 6+ years of experience in consumer financial services law, with a focus on risk management and compliance.
• Active law license in good standing.

• 8+ years of experience in consumer financial services law, with a focus on risk management and compliance.
