Rental Coordinator Job Description

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and organized Rental Coordinator to join our team in Gaithersburg, Maryland. As a key member of our Rental team, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing rental agreements for customer rentals of Caterpillar and allied equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and process rental agreements for customer rentals of Caterpillar and allied equipment.
  • Perform general administrative tasks in support of the Rental team.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their rental needs and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Process rental agreements, invoices, and other related documents.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to rental activity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless rental operations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in the equipment rental industry and knowledge of equipment applications preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn Caterpillar's Dealer Business System (DBS) and related rental software programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Physical Requirements:

The Rental Coordinator must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time and lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 20 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits:

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. offers a competitive compensation package, including a starting salary range of $27.97-$34.55 per hour, opportunities for overtime, shift differential, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) with a $0.75 to $1.25 match up to 6%, life and disability insurance, in-house training instructors/programs, tuition reimbursement, employee referral bonus program, and discounts on cellular phone service, computers, tooling, cars, and trucks.
