Job Summary

This position supports the leasing and recertification activities of HOC's Opportunity Housing, Project-Based Rental Assistance, Tax Credit, and other affordable housing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the eligibility of program participants and process applications.
  • Perform re-certifications, interviews, and certifications for applicants and tenants.
  • Coordinate move-ins and transfers with Property Managers.
  • Orient applicants to program rules and responsibilities.
  • Prepare reports and respond to telephone and walk-in inquiries.
  • Apply knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, and subsidized housing program guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with landlords, property owners, social service agencies, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Government, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years experience with Tax Credit, Housing Choice Voucher, or other subsidized housing program.
  • At least one year experience certifying participants in federally subsidized affordable housing programs.
  • Certification for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of subsidized housing program guidelines and federal, state, and local landlord-tenant laws.
  • Interviewing and counseling skills.
  • Ability to use computer software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Previous property management, marketing, and training experience.
