Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems. As an Inspection Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control inspections on products, materials, components, and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Capture and analyze statistical data from processes to confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Recommend new or enhanced methods, procedures, and standards to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Assist with repetitive and routine inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of standard parts, units, equipment, or materials.
  • Support inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies, or finished company products according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical, and/or electrical measurements.
  • Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required, and perform audits to ensure standards of quality are maintained.
  • Accurately document the results of inspections and testing.
  • Coordinate calibration of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Assist in the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocol, and checklists.
  • Interpret prints, schematics, and drawings.
Requirements
  • Attending a vocational/technical school or internal training program.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience or skillset.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Technical expertise.
  • Detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
