The University of Maryland Applied Research Lab for Intelligence and Security seeks a highly skilled Information Science Specialist to support the Acquisition and Industrial Security Mission Area. This role requires a strong background in data science, information science, or a related field, with experience in developing and implementing national and DoD-wide policy, guidance, and training on classification and declassification management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate requirements for records management
  • Develop written reports and briefings on records management for key stakeholders and customers
  • Support the development and implementation of national and DoD-wide policy, guidance, and training on classification and declassification management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in data science, information science, or a related field
  • Experience developing, updating, and coordinating policy and developing reports and briefing materials for key stakeholders and customers
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Documented research experience specific to information science
  • Experience working on applications for national security or social and economic policy
  • 0-3 years of experience in at least one area of information science, such as archives and preservation, informatics, argumentation, or data curation, modeling, and analytics
  • Active security clearance
