Job Summary

As a Research Engineer at the University of Maryland's Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), you will be part of a team that conducts cutting-edge research in social systems, autonomy, and advanced computing. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced research engineers to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for the US Government.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct independent research, combining scientific discovery with excellence in engineering practice, design, and development.
- Design, build, test, and analyze complex systems, including hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement research projects.
- Lead data analysis and propose, develop, and manage research projects.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

- PhD in a relevant field, or at least a Master of Science Plus +5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor of Science plus +10 years relevant experience.
- Evidence of sound scholarly production, including publications and presentations.
- Strong communications, presentation, and writing skills.
- US security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

- Program and project management expertise.
- Experience in customer relationship management.
- Willingness to travel.
