Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of New Albany. As a key member of our Parks and Recreation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of facilities and grounds
  • Operate and maintain park equipment and vehicles
  • Assist with the purchase and inventory of materials and supplies
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Pleasant, friendly, and outgoing demeanor
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Familiarity with basic OSHA standards and safety practices
  • Experience in parks and recreation and/or maintenance certification preferred
Working Conditions

This position requires working in both internal and external environments, with a significant amount of time spent working outdoors in various weather conditions. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be required.
