Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to manage the daily operations related to water supply and deliver advanced hydrologic expertise in alignment with the activities and initiatives of the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This includes:
  • Overseeing water availability, development, and utilization.
  • Managing water supply agreements.
  • Developing and utilizing water resource models.
  • Conducting hydrologic analyses concerning rainfall, runoff, stream flow, reservoir inflow, reservoir releases, and sedimentation.
  • Monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as water rights.
  • Coordinating with the Brazos Watermaster.
  • Implementing and operating under BRA's water management and accounting strategies.
  • Collaborating with external agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, United States Geological Survey, and the National Weather Service.
  • Providing technical support and analysis for the planning, development, and management of surface and groundwater resources.
  • Executing flood management operations for BRA-owned reservoirs.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Delivering presentations and preparing detailed reports.
  • Representing the BRA at various meetings.
  • Engaging with colleagues and the public.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • One to three years of experience in Water Resources, Hydrology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training and education.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required, with an expectation to apply this educational background effectively in daily operations.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: Min: $68,142 to $88,585 annual salary. This is an exempt position.
