Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team as an Ammonia Refrigeration Specialist. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of ammonia refrigeration systems and the ability to maintain and repair complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all engine room and other equipment, including boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, condensers, and electrical systems to ensure efficient operations and minimize downtime.
  • Recommend significant repairs to the Plant Manager and obtain bids from vendors.
  • Maintain, repair, and examine refrigeration systems, with a focus on ammonia refrigeration.
  • Develop, update, and implement Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs and document the completion of PMs.
  • Ensure that an inventory of important spare parts and tools is maintained to avoid downtime in production.
  • Monitor BOD and pH levels in wastewater and evaluate existing procedures versus establishing a new wastewater treatment facility.
  • Prepare cost comparison analysis and make recommendations to the VP-Operations and Plant Manager.
  • Develop a Proposal for a Sustainability Policy for the company and maintain updates.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in developing plans for efficient plant operation and monitoring and enforcing safety in the plant.
  • Responsible for the facility's PSM & RMP Program & Refrigeration Systems in consultation with Corp. and external refrigeration company's.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the implementation and support of a safety-focused culture.
  • Lead in the training and development of employees by managing performance and creating an environment in which they have the opportunity to succeed.
  • In consultation with the Plant Manager, ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for obtaining and retaining MSDS Sheets as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear all required safety gear (PPE).
  • Adhere to, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to attendance guidelines of the company.
Requirements
  • H.S. or GED is required along with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and all required licenses and certifications from federal and state agencies to operate and maintain a refrigeration, ammonia, and HVAC system.
