Position Summary:
The Refrigeration Maintenance Technician is tasked with diagnosing, servicing, and repairing various refrigeration systems and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
The technician will conduct routine inspections and document performance metrics for ammonia refrigeration systems, including but not limited to compressors, condensers, evaporators, and piping systems. Adherence to both written and verbal instructions is essential. Responsibilities also include preventative maintenance and repair of Fork Lift equipment, alongside other assigned tasks. Daily inspections of equipment are mandatory, with multiple checks required throughout the day.
Regular visual assessments of assigned equipment, both on-site and within the facility, are crucial, with any ammonia-related concerns reported to management.
A comprehensive understanding of the facility layout, tools, and parts is necessary. The technician must maintain refrigeration systems in accordance with safety standards across the facility. Proficiency in basic math, reading, and writing is required to accurately monitor and record equipment data. This role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions, wet surfaces, noise, and confined spaces.Qualifications:
Ability to work in extreme temperatures, ranging from 118 degrees Fahrenheit outdoors to -10 degrees Fahrenheit in freezer environments.
Candidates must be enrolled in a technical training program (with proof of enrollment) and possess at least one year of relevant work experience, or have graduated from a technical college with certification and one year of verifiable experience in maintenance, repair, or installation within a related field, or have two years of maintenance experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and mechanical aptitude are required.Experience in performing preventative maintenance on facility equipment is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is advantageous.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including components such as belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
