Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim School Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing our swim program, ensuring high-quality instruction and customer service, and contributing to the overall success of our school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Instructor Development
    • Coach and counsel non-exempt personnel on job performance, including compliance with Foss policies and taking corrective action when necessary
    • Implement Foss policies and procedures
    • Build trusted and effective relationships to advance an organizational culture that lives the Foss purpose and values
    • Support recruiting efforts and collaborate with school leaders on personnel training
  • Business Objectives
    • Oversee management of class enrollments, enrollment process, customer engagement initiatives, and other operating practices
    • Support the General Manager in implementing financial goals for the school, including lesson and retail revenue, controllable expenses, staffing levels, inventory management, and other aspects of the school's financial success
  • Customer Service
    • Be a Foss Brand Ambassador and build relationships with customers to create loyalty and excitement for the Foss brand, purpose, programming, and community
  • Facility Care
    • Ensure facility cleanliness standards are satisfied
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisor role or one year of employment at Foss
  • Experience in retail, health and fitness, restaurant, or other related experience preferred
  • Self-motivated with a desire to achieve results and excel individually and as a team
  • Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information, possess a high degree of personal integrity and sound judgment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to participate in organizational, employee, or community engagement events as necessary
Working Conditions

In this exempt position, work is expected to be delivered within established deadlines and quality standards. While performing the duties of this position, incumbents may be required to do all or some of the following, with or without accommodation:

  • Ability to work in water and demonstrate the physical movements necessary to teach the Foss Swim Path curriculum
  • Work in an indoor pool facility that will be warm and humid with water temperatures up to 91 degrees
  • Ability to work in areas exposed to noise, chemicals, and industrial equipment and supplies
  • Speak with others, including children, using clear, professional, and age-appropriate language
  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 15 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance
  • Review documents, computer monitors or displays with potentially small print
  • Operate a computer, handheld device such as an iPad, phone, and other common office tools or controls
  • Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgment
