Position Overview: Neurologist Specializing in Sleep Medicine

We are seeking a qualified Neurologist with board certification in Sleep Medicine to provide comprehensive care within the VA Northern California Health Care System. This role involves delivering telehealth services from a primary medical center to community-based clinics.

The selected candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a variety of neurological conditions, with a particular focus on sleep-related disorders such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome. Proficiency in the management of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy and evaluation of sleep-related ventilatory disorders is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct telemedicine consultations and on-site patient care.
  • Perform inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic responsibilities.
  • Interpret sleep studies and provide general neurology on-call coverage.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Board certified or eligible in both Neurology and Sleep Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with experience in VA systems and a strong foundation in both general neurology and sleep medicine will be prioritized. Formal training and board certification in both specialties are highly valued.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with on-call duties managed through telehealth during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
