Prospective Payment System Coordinator RN or PT: A Key Role in Rehabilitation

Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Prospective Payment System Coordinator RN or PT to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inpatient rehabilitation programs.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and monitor the completion of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility - Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) to ensure timely and accurate submission to CMS for Medicare reimbursement.
- Provide clinical support in the completion of data contained in the IRF-PAI to ensure accuracy in the scoring of functional status and reflection of the patient's care needs.
- Assist in the ongoing monitoring of identified benchmarks for the inpatient rehab population.
- Maintain a current knowledge of IRF-PAI software and provide expertise on this software within the inpatient rehab setting.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to capture accurate assessment of patient, including interdisciplinary patient treatment plans to facilitate achievement of expected outcomes in collaboration with interdisciplinary team.
- Verify appropriate CMG (case mix group) designation through chart review, staff interview, and collaboration with the rehab medical director.
- Participate in ongoing education to the staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of the IRF-PAI.
- Audit IRF-PAI, clinical documentation and billing information to ensure accuracy and consistency of documentation.
- Evaluate patterns of variances from standardized care plans and recommend strategies to resolve individual and caseload issues.
- Serve as a resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contribute to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
- Promote participation, cooperation and teamwork. Demonstrate problem solving in resolving issues.
- Participate in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities and seek opportunities to improve department and inter-department processes.
- Participate in internal chart review and external audit coordination as needed.
- Currently licensed in CO as a Registered Nurse or Therapist (all therapy disciplines accepted - PT, OT, SLP).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in Nursing or Physical Therapy.
- Prefer at least 2 years previous experience as a licensed clinician in an Inpatient Rehabilitation and a working knowledge of IRF-PAI & CARE Tool.

Spalding hosts the only dedicated Controlled Stimulation Unit for brain injury in the state of Colorado. Each rehabilitation program is customized to the individual patient's cognitive and physiological needs and can include one or more types of therapy.
