POSITION OVERVIEW

The CAD Drafter is responsible for transforming client requirements into precise technical drawings. This role involves utilizing floor plans, quotations, and purchase orders to assist in the design of new products and the enhancement of existing ones. The CAD Drafter will also create standard models and implement modifications based on customer feedback.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate and apply standard and customized product lines and methods for sheet metal fabrication in product drawings.
  • Resolve issues with fellow CAD Drafters regarding specific projects and equipment requests.
  • Produce detailed equipment drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Reference previously completed drawings to aid in the development of new products.
  • Engage with clients to clarify inquiries related to equipment requests.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy in models.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in drafting from an accredited technical institution.
  • At least one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient in CAD software.
  • Experience working with stainless steel materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment as a Drafter or in a similar capacity.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Solid mathematical proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proven proficiency in various drafting software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Attention to quality and detail.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Skilled in precise measurement techniques.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position. The role requires the ability to lift 25 lbs frequently and involves visual, auditory, and physical engagement, including walking, bending, reaching, and standing. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
