Position: Senior Commodity Manager (SCM) – Capital and Tooling Overview: This role involves overseeing global and/or regional commodity management. You will engage with internal stakeholders such as engineering, operations, and quality teams to gather category requirements, ensuring supplier qualification and adherence to quality standards. You will be responsible for formulating and executing a comprehensive commodity strategy, facilitating negotiations, and selecting suppliers. Additionally, you will manage strategic supplier relationships through a formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process and monitor supplier risks across all relevant categories.

Key Responsibilities:

Spearhead commodity stakeholders in developing and implementing thorough commodity strategies (Capital & Tooling) that align with both immediate and long-term objectives. Oversee the execution of sourcing projects, including RFx processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and consolidation efforts. Establish and enforce standardized Capital and Tooling processes, promoting the use of best operational standards. Collaborate with SBU stakeholders to integrate commodity strategies into the New Product Development (NPD) process while securing leadership endorsement. Partner with AME, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure the successful delivery of Capital and Tooling programs, including support for the annual AOP process. Lead commercial negotiations and supplier selection processes within the commodities sector. Manage strategic suppliers through a formal SRM process to enhance performance metrics, including quality, delivery, productivity, and innovation. Collaborate with NPD Procurement teams to support new product development and technology introduction through preferred supplier and SRM initiatives. Monitor supplier risks across all relevant commodities (Capital & Tooling) and develop detailed mitigation strategies for critical tools and at-risk suppliers. Present comprehensive commodity strategies during Commodity Reviews (QCR).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5 to 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations. A minimum of 3 years of experience in tooling management, preferably with an equipment provider in the industrial manufacturing sector. Proven expertise in supplier assessment, negotiation, and selection. Strong experience in coordinating and facilitating discussions, consultations, and conflict resolution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Global Business Insight – Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of suppliers, industry trends, emerging markets, and technology, integrating this knowledge into strategic planning and team development. Problem Solving – Identifies potential issues, supports root cause analysis, evaluates corrective action plans, and oversees implementation. Relationship Management – Fosters a collaborative environment with cross-functional partners, ensuring effective communication and maintaining relationships with industry peers and suppliers.
