Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will possess a robust and demonstrable background in one or more of the following areas:
- Healthcare mergers and acquisitions, particularly involving private equity transactions with healthcare systems.
- Legal matters pertaining to business entities.
- Compliance with health law regulations, including federal and state fraud and abuse statutes, anti-kickback provisions, self-referral laws, and fee-splitting regulations.
- Professional regulation and disciplinary actions, as well as knowledge of state licensure requirements.
- Understanding of federal and state patient confidentiality laws and cybersecurity concerns.
- Representation of physicians, medical practices, and mid-level professionals, including startups and alternative practice models.
- Expertise in behavioral health, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, laboratory services, and managed care contracting.
- Document drafting, review, and negotiation.
The ideal candidate must be (or in the process of becoming) licensed to practice law in Florida and should be open to relocating within the Tampa Bay area.
