MRI Technologist

At Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative work environment. As a PRN MRI Tech, you'll play a vital role in our diagnostic imaging team, working closely with physicians to optimize MRI sequences and produce high-quality images.

• Review patient charts and physician orders to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathology
• Select the appropriate imaging coil for each study
• Perform imaging studies using proper scanning techniques and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians to optimize MRI sequences and produce high-quality images
• Administer contrast media based on patient height and weight, as ordered, including GFR screening and lab work
• Screen patients and family members for MRI safety and contraindications
• Verify pregnancy status, when appropriate
• Obtain MRI consent documentation, when necessary
• Document diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate record
• Administer MRI safety and screen patients for contraindications, such as foreign bodies or medical indications
• Determine whether patients have been properly prepared for procedures
• Perform daily clerical duties, including the use of HIS systems, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital
• Perform any additional duties assigned

• High School Graduate or GED required; Diploma from a Vocational/Technical school preferred
• 0-1 years' experience; 2-4 years' experience preferred
• Must be MRI certified within one year of hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
