Job Description

As a Satellite Communication Systems Operator-Maintainer with the Army National Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the lines of communication are always open. This involves installing, operating, and maintaining strategic and tactical multi-channel satellite communications.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transmit, receive, and log messages according to military procedures
  • Encode and decode classified messages
  • Operate telephone switchboards
  • Install, maintain, and operate communications equipment
  • Monitor and respond to emergency calls
Advanced Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on technical issues to other Soldiers
  • Identify and report electronic jamming and deception
  • Apply appropriate electronic countermeasures
Key Skills
  • Conduct stressed and unstressed network operations
  • Maintenance of satellite communications equipment and associated devices
  • Prepare system and equipment related forms and reports
