Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Engineer II to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our clients to assess their energy usage and identify opportunities for improvement. This is a full-time, exempt position located in the Greater Los Angeles area or Central Valley, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead projects and provide overall management, direction, and accountability on assigned projects.
  • Calculate energy savings for various system or equipment changes using existing calculation tools, original spreadsheets, and/or generally accepted methodologies.
  • Engage with clients at their commercial/buildings locations to fully understand their equipment and operations and identifying opportunities for energy efficiency.
  • Foster and grow client relationships and identify opportunities for generating additional work from current clients.
  • Discuss or explain complex technical issues with a diverse audience on their level in a way that facilitates understanding and consensus.
  • Compose energy efficiency project reports based on analyses and observations.
  • Document performance through data collection from customer sources or via installed data logging equipment.
  • Maintain solid understanding of utility programs and their compliance requirements.
  • Provide peer support through technical discussions and work review.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and relative experience.
  • 2+ years of energy engineering experience.
  • Technical knowledge of commercial systems, for example: controls, general HVAC, steam systems, chillers, cooling towers, lighting, custom computer modeling of systems, data analysis.
  • Experience in some/all of these areas: Commercial Energy Efficiency, Commercial HVAC Controls Commissioning or Retro Commissioning, Strategic Energy Management (SEM), Industrial Energy Efficiency.
