POSITION SUMMARY:

The Family Support Specialist III is responsible for delivering extensive family support, facilitating referrals, and coordinating community resources to encourage economic independence and improve the quality of life for residents. This role involves leading the team in formulating strategies aimed at ensuring family stability and success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate family support meetings, collaborate with the On-site Project Manager, and oversee data integrity in Urban Strategies, Inc.'s LEARN system.
  • Conduct data analysis, devise strategies with the Senior Project Manager, and perform intake assessments for residents.
  • Advocate for residents while ensuring the confidentiality of information and nurturing partnerships.
  • Provide clients with resources and knowledge to access financial capital, including loans for housing and consumer goods, to enhance credit, decrease debt, and support wealth creation through entrepreneurship.
  • Deliver consultation services in financial management and goal-setting.
  • Organize both in-person and virtual seminars for clients seeking resources in financial literacy and capital access.
  • Support and enhance the development of the Urban Strategies, Inc. CDFI client base.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit or human services.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong skills in both independent work and teamwork.
  • Willingness to attend evening/weekend events and travel as necessary.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in facilitating group processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in data analysis for resident-driven program development.
  • Respect for confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
