The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a physician leader for the role of Assistant Chief of Staff at a facility of 1A complexity.

Contractual Information: There is no Physician Employment Contract, and there are no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
The Assistant Chief of Staff will be accountable to the Chief of Staff for overseeing patient care programs and educational activities within clinical services. This role involves close collaboration with the Senior Executive Leadership Team to plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise administrative functions essential to patient care. The Assistant Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in integrating clinical and support programs to address veterans' needs, ensuring compliance with regulations, medical staff bylaws, facility policies, and performance measures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives.
- Evaluating clinical workload and resource requirements.
- Conducting cost/benefit analyses for new services and program expansions.
- Providing strategic advice to define and achieve the facility's mission and goals.
- Establishing policies and guidelines for continuous service delivery.
- Maintaining effective relationships with affiliated medical institutions.
The Assistant Chief of Staff will work closely with the Chief of Staff and the second Deputy Chief of Staff to formulate and recommend comprehensive medical care programs.
