Job Summary

The Department of Neurology, Epilepsy Division at the University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our neurodiagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing complex electroencephalographic studies, long-term epilepsy monitoring, and evoked potential procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibrate and operate computer systems and other measuring devices to ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Perform standard and complex electroencephalographic studies, long-term epilepsy monitoring, and evoked potential procedures with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of neurodiagnostic services.
  • Support the education and training of students, nursing staff, and other departments in the neurodiagnostic field.
  • Transport and set up medium to heavy weight equipment on a daily basis.
  • Move patients of varying size and condition in bed or to wheelchair or stretcher on a daily basis.
  • Display excellent customer service behaviors to all patients and staff.
  • Treat patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric.
  • Act as a clinical instructor to students and staff with less experience.
  • Display flexibility to accept new or different assignments.
  • Keep equipment in a clean and operating condition.
  • Practice strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentiality.
  • Perform polysomnography recordings on all age groups.
  • Prepare and attach electrodes and other measuring devices for neurodiagnostic studies on inpatients and outpatients.
  • Perform record-keeping and other related paperwork, including billing, filing, and maintenance of logbooks and physical storage of records.
  • Obtain patient history from medical records and document information in digital EEG systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
