Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Nicklaus Children's Health System. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations on patients as requested by referring physicians, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring the smooth operation of the MRI scanner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient charts and prescriptions to ensure accurate exam performance.
  • Coordinate MRI exams with other departments and doctors' offices to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document all required information in patient log books and scan sheets.
  • Exercise extreme care and caution when obtaining medical history and reason for examination to promote patient safety and prevent damage to MRI equipment.
  • Follow hospital patient-identification policies prior to performing examinations.
  • Inform shift supervisors of equipment repairs and maintain MRI equipment in a clean and orderly state.
  • Stay current with new MRI issues through ongoing education and training.
  • Monitor patients in the MRI scanner with nursing assistance when necessary.
  • Operate the MRI scanner to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Perform scans in a timely manner to minimize patient delays.
  • Enter and transmit patient information to PACS promptly upon completion of examinations.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled or completed a training program in MRI, or 3 years of MRI Technologist experience.
  • American Registry of Rad Tech ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification, maintained active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association CPR BLS certification, maintained active and in good standing throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • Knowledge of emergency equipment and their functions.
  • Knowledge of cardiac, fetal, and other specialties.
  • Knowledge of working in an OR environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt standard clinical procedures to individual client needs.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
