Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager to join our Raleigh Residential Land Development group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering technically sound products to meet internal and external client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make significant design decisions for assigned projects, ensuring they meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact on related project efforts.
  • Proactively identify technical, schedule, or financial issues and collaborate with the Project Manager and/or client to resolve them.
  • Assist clients in bidding or contractor selection, and monitor construction while supervising field personnel assigned to a task or project.
  • Respond to contractor questions and issues, and prepare and issue project addenda as needed.
  • Recommend and prepare change orders, and participate in the creation of engineering services proposals.
  • Act as a technical expert on assigned projects and as a Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a scientific area, or equivalent work experience.
  • Professionally registered (P.E., L.S.) in one or more states where Timmons Group conducts business, strongly preferred.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required.
  • Seven or more years of design/engineering experience, with a demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company to sign engineering documents.
  • Strong technical verbal and writing skills, with the ability to read technical literature and engineering plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply professional knowledge to routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.
  • Participation in external activities representing the firm, including membership/leadership in professional associations, public task forces/committees, or community/technical outreach opportunities.
  • Development of financial project management skills through assigned project work and project management assignments.
