JOB DETAILS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop Factory CAD layouts for material display areas, storage solutions, and kitting/sequencing cells.
  • Conduct site assessments as necessary to refine drawings.
  • Comprehend all data inputs for the Plan for Every Part (PFEP), including Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), process flows, inbound transportation metrics, and containerization details.
  • Analyze PFEP data and plant configurations to formulate a comprehensive material flow strategy.
  • Execute static manpower assessments utilizing standard time data to establish job roles for material handling.
  • Conduct dock capacity evaluations.
  • Perform storage assessments.
  • Designate delivery methods for each component, ensuring that items requiring sequencing or kitting are identified and addressed appropriately.
  • Allocate dock doors for inbound loads, metered materials, sequenced components, and tier 1 sequence items.
  • Assess packing dimensions and density for each component to guarantee optimal flow and presentation for operators. Collaborate with the packaging team to optimize material handling costs and address lineside challenges.
  • Assign delivery mechanisms and personnel for all components in the PFEP.
  • Evaluate Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) requirements for each route, including specifications and necessary onboard technology for deliveries.
  • Prepare Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for the material handling division.
  • Collaborate with the dynamic simulation team on internal material flow processes.
  • Engage with the dynamic simulation team on external flow for yards, gates, and access points.
  • Generate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide weekly reports.
  • Utilize open issues lists, action registers, checklists, project schedules, lessons learned, and other documentation methods to advance the project.
  • Assess challenges as they arise, devising and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ensure closure of outstanding issues.
  • Review current or proposed material flow processes to identify cost-saving opportunities and avenues for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct business case evaluations, payback analyses, and make versus buy assessments.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
