Job Description

At Optimal Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for conducting materials laboratory analysis, including DSC, TGA, DMA, and material mechanical testing following ASTM standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform materials characterization and design of experiments to optimize polymer and composite materials performance.
  • Develop and optimize composite material process designs.
  • Author laboratory reports to summarize research findings.
  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, manufacturing, and supplier personnel to implement method improvements and product enhancements.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and advancements in the field.
  • Conduct research on molding and surface properties, compression and vacuum bay molding properties, and test lab experience with Instran instruments, tensile testing, 3-point bend testing, and impact drop tower testing.
  • Provide analysis and summary reports on data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.
