Role Summary:
The Patient Registration Specialist is responsible for welcoming patients and gathering essential information to ensure the precise and confidential processing of medical orders and appointment scheduling, adhering to HIPAA standards. This role involves answering phone calls in a friendly and supportive manner to assist callers with their inquiries.
- Accurately records and interprets written and verbal orders from physicians to facilitate the correct execution of imaging procedures and the financial processing of patient claims.
- Collects and verifies patient demographic information using two forms of identification, ensuring data integrity in our systems.
- Handles all forms of documentation, including faxes and electronic entries, within the designated software platforms.
- Engages professionally with patients, visitors, and referring physicians through various communication channels, addressing their requests effectively.
- Provides guidance and training to new team members, while actively seeking opportunities for professional development through in-service training and industry-related programs.
