We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Supervisor to join our team at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS). As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for orienting new and current employees to laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as educating staff on updated policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement nursing care plans, providing health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups, and/or nursing home facilities.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team, preparing and submitting records, reports, evaluations, and forms as needed.
- Participate in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies/procedures and state and federal regulatory standards.
- Conduct employee competency and nursing skill clinics at least annually, establishing and maintaining employee training records.
- Coordinate clinical and administrative activities, responding to medical, psychiatric, and environmental emergencies, and promoting a therapeutic milieu based on the principles of the Recovery Model and Trauma Informed Care.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- At least three years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing, or a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing, or a Master's degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through coursework, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.
