Reports to: E&I Department Manager

Position Summary:

An Instrumentation Engineer will design, specify, and select process instrumentation, assist in the preparation of P&IDs, prepare Instrument Indexes, and perform DCS/PLC configuration with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify instruments for various plant environments
  • Read and develop P&IDs
  • Produce control narratives and Cause & Effect Diagrams
  • Suggest best use technology for application
  • Check Instrument packages
  • Coach/Mentor entry-level engineers
  • Interface with Clients, Vendors, and Project Managers
  • Understanding of Safety Systems
  • Develop FEED Packages for estimating
  • Estimate discipline hours
  • Drive design packages

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering. PE Required, SIS Certifications is a plus

Experience: 5+ years of experience in project-based engineering role

Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Instrument Calculation programs, and Bluebeam
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of typical instrument design package and workflow required to complete design
  • Ability to obtain OSHA, TWIC, and site-specific safety training
  • Able to travel to worksite in and out of state. Out of state travel is typically less than 10%

Physical Requirements:

  • Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. The role may require occasional travel to field sites
  • Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds for setting up recruiting event materials
