Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, preparing patients for examination, and processing images to ensure high-quality diagnostic results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Prepare patients for examination, including positioning and instructing them on the procedure
  • Process images to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Interface with patients, staff, and physicians to facilitate the improvement of patient experience
  • Work to improve Press Ganey scores through patient satisfaction initiatives
  • Transport patients as necessary to expedite examinations and improve patient satisfaction
  • Verify patient information and contraindications for contrast agent administration
  • Administer IV contrast agents and assist with oral contrast administration
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and perform quality control checks on equipment
  • Provide on-the-job training to other imaging technologists
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance of equipment
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Radiology Technologist
  • Competency in one of the following modalities: CT, MRI, or Special Procedures
Working Conditions

Frequently lifts or moves objects, occasionally carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds, frequently pushes patients or objects up to 200 pounds, and occasionally moves with assistance patients or objects greater than 250 pounds.
