Position Overview


The Property Accountant is responsible for delivering accounting services to a portfolio of approximately 7-8 Select Service and Extended Stay hotels within a centralized accounting framework.

Key Responsibilities

Approach all interactions with guests, team members, vendors, corporate offices, and ownership in a professional, friendly, and service-oriented manner.

Ensure adherence to all Crestline standard operating procedures and policies.

Maintain compliance with all internal and external audit requirements.

Accurately record hotel revenues and expenses in line with CHRI established guidelines. Analyze and assess variances against budget or prior year figures, providing actionable recommendations for improvement to management.

Process financial reporting packages according to CHR standards, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Timely reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.


Effectively manage and communicate cash flow issues, including the precise and prompt preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables and payables, cash balances, control mechanisms, and timely deposits of all funds.

Conduct financial analysis and operational assessments to support management in achieving the hotels' financial goals.

Enhance productivity efforts, identify areas for improvement, and assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.


Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the accurate execution of all operational taxes.

Provide support to management in enforcing compliance with these regulations.

Establish and continuously audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, and payroll.

Identify and report discrepancies to Directors, offering recommendations for corrective actions.


Seek innovative and cost-effective methods to enhance current processes.

Make suitable recommendations to the Directors of Centralized Accounting.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.

Experience in select service branded hotels is preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficient in computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with various hotel information systems is advantageous.

Other Requirements


Ability to work independently with comprehensive knowledge of all accounting functions, including GAAP and Hospitality Accounting standards, and the capability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
