About the Role

NHC HealthCare Fort Oglethorpe is seeking a skilled Dishwasher to join our food service team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Transport and store dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, and other kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Clean and sanitize the dish machine and dish room to maintain a high level of hygiene.
  • Scrape, stack, wash, and sanitize dishes, flatware, utensils, pots/pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Wrap flatware as needed and bus tables in the dining room, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure quality products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • A sincere interest in food service and a willingness to work with seniors and other healthcare patients.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic and modified consistency diets, or a desire to learn.
  • Knowledge of correct sanitation and food safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks daily.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Basic reading skills to perform job tasks, including reading chemical labels, SDS, equipment usage instructions, and tray tickets.
  • Good mental and physical condition.
  • Basic computer skills may be beneficial.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively with colleagues.
  • Desire to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and be on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to work under supervision.
  • Sanitation Course certification, as required by NHC standards and state regulations.
