Forensic Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Electrical Engineer to join our team at J.S. Held LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for investigating the cause and origin of failures, damages, or defects in electrical systems and components within industrial, commercial, and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate electrical system failures and determine the cause of failures.
- Analyze the quality of construction and review design and maintenance procedures.
- Perform field investigations and lead multi-party examinations.
- Research failure modes and provide recommendations for repair and/or replacement.
- Prepare accurate and clear reports detailing opinions and conclusions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams on large and complex assignments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with over 5 years of experience in evaluating electrical system and component failures.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expert witness testimony experience.
- Multi-state PE licensing and/or active NCEES Record.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel to various project sites.
- Ability to access and inspect all areas of mechanical, electrical, and/or IT equipment.
