Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical procedure. As a member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating room, assembling and arranging instrumentation and equipment, and providing patient care in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Providence St. Joseph Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room, including setting up and arranging instrumentation and equipment.
  • Provide patient care, including positioning, moving, and transporting patients.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and facilitate the progress of the surgical procedure.
  • Maintain accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts.
  • Collaborate with the circulating nurse to uphold AORN standards.
Requirements
  • Certificate of completion of a surgical technician vocational program or documentation of equivalent training.
  • Washington Surgical Technologist Registration upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification upon hire.
