Job Summary:

The Accounting Operations Manager at Atlantic Sapphire is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient management of the company's financial resources.

This role involves managing a team of accountants, ensuring the smooth operation of accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions, and driving process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  3. Monitor and control the flow of financial data into the company's accounting systems.
  4. Coordinate and assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries.
  5. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  6. Assign tasks, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback.
  7. Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of accounting staff.
  8. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  9. Track performance against budget and report on variances.
  10. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  11. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  12. Monitor and manage financial risks, including cash flow, credit, and collection risks.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA or MBA preferred). Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, and at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience with accounting software Microsoft Dynamics and analytics tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Work Environment:

Hybrid - onsite in combined office and farm/production environment and work-from-home. Schedule: Monday through Friday standard business hours.
