Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all processes.
- Direct and support laboratory staff, providing guidance and expertise to maintain high standards of testing and evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Facilitate staff meetings to address concerns, suggestions, and service quality.
- Coordinate training and competency assessments for new and existing staff.
- Act as a liaison between the laboratory and management, ensuring effective communication.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Monitor quality indicators and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper maintenance protocols are followed.
- Serve as a technical resource for laboratory staff and oversee clinical testing as needed.
- Manage human resources functions, including performance evaluations and staff development.
- Adhere to the organization's ethical standards and ensure compliance among supervised staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
- A minimum of three years of experience in clinical laboratory settings, with leadership experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven leadership abilities in managing staff and laboratory operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and supply chain practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.
