Position Overview

The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is dedicated to supporting persecuted Christians in some of the most challenging regions globally. Founded by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand and his wife, Sabina, VOM has been a beacon of hope since 1967, inspiring believers through the stories of those who suffer for their faith.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor the Human Resources team, ensuring professional growth and effective performance management.
  2. Oversee payroll operations, including the administration of benefits, payroll tax compliance, and reporting.
  3. Manage benefits administration, encompassing medical and retirement plans, as well as compliance with employment laws.
  4. Update and maintain job descriptions across the organization.
  5. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations, recommending best practices as necessary.
  6. Facilitate the recruitment process by collaborating with management to identify and hire qualified candidates.
  7. Act as a supportive resource to the Chief of Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within Human Resources is essential.
  3. Experience in payroll, benefits management, and employment law is required.
  4. HR certification is desirable.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent time management, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

  1. Standard office environment with flexible hours.
  2. Must reside in the local area and work from the headquarters.

Special Considerations:

  1. Maintain confidentiality regarding all personnel and organizational matters.
  2. Must be a committed follower of biblical teachings.
  3. Participation in the spiritual activities of the organization is expected.
  4. Agreement with and adherence to the VOM Statement of Faith is required.
