About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Americas Category Specialist, Mechanical to join our team at ABB. As a key member of our Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division, you will play a critical role in supporting regional/global sourcing initiatives and ensuring the purchase of materials aligns with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the regional/global category leader.
- Negotiate agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renew price lists and terms and conditions.
- Run benchmark studies for the Category team and for specific sourcing initiatives.
- Create local contract amendments to frame agreements on behalf of a country and update/maintain frame contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Production/Operations management, Supply Chain or closely related field required.
- 8+ years of experience in sourcing and supply chain management, working as category buyer, category responsible for Mechanical, metallic, C&F preferred.
- Sound knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and practices and the Mechanical / Metallic / Casting & Forgings/ Plastic market.
- Knowledge of SAP Ariba is a plus.
- Fluent in English, written and oral.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
