Expedition Vehicle Technician

At Storyteller Overland LLC, we're seeking a highly skilled Expedition Vehicle Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical team, you'll be responsible for the assembly and modification of 4WD expedition vehicles, working closely with our engineers to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Upgrade suspension systems on various chassis
  • Install 4WD conversion kits
  • Modify chassis and cab to accommodate expedition vehicle needs
  • Install custom bumpers, grills, storage racks, storage boxes, and winches
  • Remove and mount tires on vehicles
  • Install sub-frames on chassis to support living quarters
  • Mount diesel heaters and hydronic heating systems
  • Perform basic engine work, including preventive maintenance
  • Work independently to assist the team in fabrication, installation, and testing
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues
  • Enter time towards processes for accurate reporting
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Use measuring instruments, such as tape measures and calipers
  • Perform welding and light fabrication (preferred)
  • Assist staff and initiate continuous improvement
  • Follow OSHA safety protocols
Requirements:
  • AAS Technical/Trade degree or associate degree (preferred)
  • Automotive experience is a must
  • Diesel training is preferred but not required
  • General knowledge of computers, electrical assembly, and mechanical repair
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and technical specifications
  • Willingness to learn additional technical skills
  • Able to follow process instructions accurately
  • Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team
  • Valid certification (e.g. ASE) is a plus
  • A valid driver's license is required
