Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications, including specialty pharmaceuticals and injectables, adhering to all regulatory standards and company protocols.
- Compound medications in a sterile environment, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
- Manage pharmacy orders, including processing, packing, and shipping, while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct inventory management and maintain proper storage conditions for pharmaceuticals.
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, considering the unique needs of various patient demographics.
- Verify prescriptions and oversee the pharmaceutical care provided to patients.
- Develop and monitor patient care plans, collaborating with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams regarding medication therapy and patient status.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including FDA and DEA guidelines.
- Provide indirect supervision to pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Utilize pharmacy management systems to interpret and process prescriptions accurately.
- Engage with patients to validate information and resolve any issues related to their medications.
Qualifications:
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
- Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas.
- Strong knowledge of drug products and clinical pharmacy practices.
- Experience with infusion therapies and the ability to navigate complex medication orders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends and on-call duties.
- Reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the pharmacy location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nutritionally Certified.
- Experience in Home Care or Home Infusion settings.
- Background in sterile compounding.
- Familiarity with CPR+ software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, and walking within a pharmacy environment.
