ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a diligent and motivated Kitchen Steward to enhance our culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, assisting with dish cleaning, and addressing the needs of our guests.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, assisting with dishwashing duties, and providing support to the culinary staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the kitchen remains clean and organized, washing and sorting soiled dishes, and preparing food as necessary.
  • Set up dishwashing stations, including dish machines and sinks.
  • Maintain clean and dry floors throughout the shift.
  • Properly wash, stack, and store dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
  • Change water in machines and sinks regularly, adhering to proper chemical dilutions.
  • Assist with the timely storage of food deliveries.
  • Manage trash disposal throughout the shift and remove full trash cans at the end of each shift.
  • Organize the dry storage area and maintain the cleanliness of storage shelves.
  • Follow the daily dish cleaning duties as posted.
  • Support food preparation and other tasks as directed by the chef.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma preferred

Experience: 1 year of experience in a similar role preferred

Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Effective planning and multitasking abilities
  • Self-motivated with high energy
  • Good verbal communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift and move items exceeding 30 pounds.
