The Role
As the Head of Student Admissions and Middle School Initiatives, you will spearhead the strategic execution of our academic programs that lay the groundwork for students' journeys toward higher education. This includes overseeing the recruitment and admissions processes that aim to identify and enroll a diverse cohort of new students. You will collaborate closely with educational leaders and community organizations to implement effective recruitment strategies.
In this position, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for program delivery and student engagement. Your leadership will involve developing and assessing program strategies, creating compelling educational content, and ensuring that our middle school initiatives align with our broader organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Student Recruitment and Admissions
- Design and implement innovative recruitment strategies to achieve enrollment targets for our middle school programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, school administrators, and educators to identify potential candidates for our programs.
- Utilize data analytics to inform and enhance recruitment and admissions strategies.
- Train and support staff and volunteers in the recruitment process, including conducting presentations and interviews.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new students and their families, ensuring a smooth transition into our programs.
- Lead the planning and execution of our signature Middle School Summer Program and After-School initiatives.
- Engage families through personalized communication and educational opportunities to enhance their involvement in their children's education.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that student advising is effectively implemented throughout the academic year.
- Align all programming with the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Work with leadership to establish metrics for program impact and success.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of data to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations to amplify our impact.
- Represent the organization at community events and educational forums.
- Assist in gathering testimonials and success stories to highlight the effectiveness of our programs.
- Collaborate with the development team to create volunteer opportunities that support student success.
- Extensive leadership experience in youth development or educational organizations, particularly those focused on college access.
- Deep understanding of the challenges faced by first-generation college students.
- Proven track record in developing engaging programs that support students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in program evaluation and data-driven decision-making.
