Job Overview

Position: In-Process / First Article Inspector

Industry: Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

Shift: Day Shift

Compensation: Eligible for Quarterly Shop Bonus Plan, up to $300 per quarter

Note: U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required due to the nature of work performed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform first article inspections on setup components from machinery.
  • Document and record dimensional results accurately.
  • Collaborate with department leads and setup machinists to evaluate inspection data.
  • Conduct periodic in-process inspections.
  • Execute established CMM programs proficiently.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace inspection within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
  • Proficient in using micrometers, optical comparators, height gauges, and profilometers.
  • Experience with CMM operation (PCDMIS, QC5000, Brown and Sharp Reflex).
  • Comprehensive understanding of workmanship standards and sampling plans for product acceptance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to perform receiving inspections using standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, and test fixtures.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Capability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience in analyzing SPC data for manufacturing improvements and conducting Gage R&R studies.
  • Accurate reporting of product status and documentation of nonconforming materials.
  • Preparation and utilization of standard documentation for inspection reporting.
  • Conduct process and product audits, including validation checks and trend analysis.
  • Proficient in ballooning drawings using Discus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Capacity to sit or stand for up to 10 hours daily.
