Animology is in search of a committed and knowledgeable Sales Associate to enhance our retail environment. The perfect candidate will possess a robust background in pet nutrition, outstanding customer service abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for assisting pet owners in making educated choices for their beloved animals.

The Sales Associate will be instrumental in delivering exceptional support to customers, discerning their pets' requirements, and directing them towards appropriate products. This role necessitates weekend availability and provides options for both full-time and part-time employment.

Compensation:

$17 - $20 hourly

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Expertise: Maintain an extensive knowledge of our selection of pet nutrition products, supplies, and grooming services to effectively guide customers in their purchasing decisions.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver superior customer service by welcoming, assisting, and engaging customers in a friendly and approachable manner. Address inquiries, provide recommendations, and offer solutions that align with their pets' needs.
  • Nutritional Knowledge: Utilize at least 1 year of experience in pet nutrition to provide expert guidance on dietary requirements, ingredients, and portion control for dogs and cats.
  • Product Suggestions: Help customers identify their pets' specific needs and recommend suitable products to meet those needs, fostering loyalty and trust.
  • Effective Communication: Collaborate efficiently with team members to ensure smooth operations. Share product insights, inventory updates, and customer feedback with the team.
  • Cash Handling: Apply your 1 year of cashier experience to accurately process transactions, manage payments, and maintain precise sales records.
  • Store Upkeep: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, including stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring a visually appealing environment.
  • Grooming Assistance: Provide information regarding grooming services and help customers schedule appointments for their pets.
  • Weekend Availability: Be prepared to work on weekends to meet customer needs and contribute to a well-rounded team schedule.
Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience in pet nutrition, demonstrating a solid understanding of the dietary needs of dogs and cats.
  • 1 year of cashier experience, showcasing proficiency in handling transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with a diverse clientele.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customer interactions.
  • A passion for pets and their well-being, along with a sincere interest in assisting pet owners in making informed decisions.
  • Willingness to work weekends, with flexible options for both full-time and part-time schedules.
