This position provides an opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art technology within a flourishing industry. The CNC Mill/Lathe Operator will be tasked with operating CNC Lathes under guidance to produce aerospace components according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Lathes equipped with Fanuc Controls.
- Conduct daily operations of CNC lathes.
- Inspect parts as they are produced.
- Perform deburring as necessary during the manufacturing process.
- Acquire fundamental knowledge of commonly used M and G codes.
- Receive training in blueprint reading.
- Adhere to schedules established by supervisors.
- Learn to utilize micrometers and other precision measurement tools.
- Monitor machine operations and identify any out-of-tolerance components.
- Meet production standards based on job estimates.
- Develop troubleshooting skills for any arising issues.
- Follow setup sheets and instructions provided at machines.
- Implement all 5S processes effectively.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Vocational training is advantageous.
- College coursework is a plus.
- Previous on-the-job training is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Familiarity with Boeing BAC specifications is a plus.
- Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred.
- Ability to calculate plating tolerances on diameters and threads.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
Other Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Capability to maintain a tolerance of .0001.
- Strong attention to detail.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret work instructions, drawings, and procedural manuals in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries in English.
Mathematical Skills:
- Strong foundational knowledge of geometry.
- Ability to convert metric to imperial measurements and perform decimal to fraction conversions.
- Meticulous attention to decimal placement.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Capability to reach, carry, push, pull, write, key/type, stand, walk, bend, and squat.
- Must maintain mental and visual acuity to ensure work accuracy.
Work Environment:
Work may take place in an office setting or within the manufacturing area, necessitating the use of safety glasses and hearing protection. Exposure to varying degrees of heat, cold, dust, dirt, noise, odors, and fumes may occur in manufacturing areas.
Job Type: Full-time, 1st Shift
