Job Summary

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Management Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory and special-order items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager, Materials Management, in performing receiving and distribution of inventory and special-order items.
  • Restock warehouses and supervise a team of Materials Management Clerks as assigned.
  • Ensure all required documentation related to receiving, stock, and non-stock supply distribution is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Coordinate emergency deliveries with the Transportation department administration.
  • Research special-order delivery issues in response to end-user complaints.
  • Notify the Inventory Coordinator of any change in the movement of products.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving flow in the department.
  • Fulfill pick tickets/computer requisitions and deliver supplies to hospital departments on time.
  • Assist with annual and cycle count events as directed by the Manager, Materials Management.
  • Load and unload the department's delivery truck and bring all supplies and/or equipment into the department.
  • Ensure all work areas and storage areas are maintained in a safe and proper appearance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of related experience required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
    • Previous experience with an automated inventory management system preferred
    • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports, and correspondence
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
    • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
    • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
    • Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office)
    • Ability to lift 70 lbs
